Public Transportation

Tempe in Motion (TIM) provides bus, bicycle, pedestrian and light rail facilities and encourages getting around Tempe in anything but a car. The goal is to provide a balanced transportation system that is environmentally sustainable, accessible, preserves neighborhoods, promotes transit-oriented development and involves citizens in the process. The TIM program provides excellent alternatives to getting to the Mill Avenue District, so you don't have to worry about traffic or parking!

The 20-mile METRO light rail line will connect Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa, including 5.5 miles through Tempe. One of the stations will right at Mill Avenue and 3rd Street and will drop visitors directly in the Mill Avenue District.
