In order to maintain a safe environment in the Mill Avenue District, it is important that all businesses and employees remain diligent in reporting crimes. Below is a list of common crimes and their definitions:

Vandalism/Destruction Of Property - The act of destroying or damaging public or private property

Aggresive Pan Handling - Using threatening or intimidating behavior or words when asking for money, asking for money after being told no; pan-handling within 15 feet of a bus stop, an ATM, or bank entrance

Disorderly Conduct - Any act that offends you, your employees or customers and includes offensive language, fighting, offensive behavior/gestures or excessive noise

Urban Camping - Using a public park, street or sidewalk for living accommodations to include laying down bedding for the purpose of sleeping, storing personal belongings, or preparing meals

Trespassing - Businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone and ask them to leave the property

Shoplifting - Removing property from a store or business without paying

Street Vending - the sale of any tangible good in the public right of way
