Downtown Tempe is ready for all you baseball fans to invade the downtown area and enjoy all we have to offer!

1. Sunset Yoga Series

Are you ready to get fit before swimsuit season? Are you looking to center your body and mind? Do you want a breathtaking view of Tempe Town Lake at sunset?

If so, you’re in luck! Downtown Tempe is launching its Sunset Yoga Series starting March 10th!

Downtown Tempe’s new event is in partnership with Marina Heights and Mountainside Fitness!

“We are looking forward to this community event and outreach to share our live of fitness, wellness and yoga with our neighbors,” Dani Byrd, Group Fitness Director at Mountainside Fitness, said. “Our hopes for this event is that we’ll be able to connect with others who share the same passion of yoga and that everyone will be able to enjoy yoga at all levels of practice or maybe find a new passion!”

This new event takes place every Tuesday until April 28th and is FREE to participate! Check our Facebook page on how to RSVP for your FREE session.

2. Tempe Festival of the Arts

We’re back!!

This spring, the Tempe Festival of the Arts comes back for its 43rd spring season! Art from all backgrounds, talents and materials will take over Mill Ave. and Downtown Tempe to showcase their work and sell you one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

“We are so excited to be celebrating the spring festival’s 43rd year in Downtown Tempe,” Kate Borders, Executive Direct & President of the Downtown Tempe Authority, said. “We love bringing artists from all backgrounds and talents to Downtown Tempe for the community to love and explore.”

In addition to the unique local art, the festival will also have its signature Wine & Spirits Tasting along Maple Ave. and of course, there will be brews from some of your local favorites – Pedal Haus and Four Peaks.

Make sure to bring the kiddos and check out the Young Artist Exhibition, which showcases art from youth all over the state, and Kids Block, where your little ones can build an upcycles city, start their own art collection, or just make some art of their own!

The Tempe Festival of the Arts takes over Downtown Tempe from March 27-29!

3. Innings Festival

The music will start pulsing in Downtown Tempe the weekend of Feb, 29! The Innings Festival returns to Tempe Beach Park and is bring a star studded line up and some star MLB players are sure to make an appearance to help kick-off the Spring Training season.

“The festival was built on the combination of music and baseball,” Tim Sweetwood, founder of the Innings Festival, said. “Tempe has a great park that is right in the middle of all the Spring Training baseball parks.”

This year’s headliners include Dave Matthews Band and Weezer, with some other favorites like Portugal, the Man and Death Cab for Cutie.

                          

The Innings Festival is poised to take over Downtown Tempe thanks to “all the elements that need to surround your festival experience,” Tim said. “Good hotels, places to eat and places to hang out before and after the festival. You can also walk to all of those elements!”

Tim points out there is no other music festival in the world that combines music and baseball.

Be sure to check out the Innings Festival on February 29 and 28 in Downtown Tempe. Tickets are still on sale!

4. Aloha Festival

Who’s ready for some tropical fun in the spring?

The annual Arizona Aloha Festival is coming back to Tempe Beach Park from March 14-15. Come check yourself into paradise while learning more about the South Pacific Islands and Hawaii.

Not only do you get to wear a beautiful Lei while perusing the festival, you can also learn how to pay the ‘ukulele, make some Keiki crafts, play some fun games and explore the ‘Ohana Village!

The festival will also house three different food courts that will satisfy any craving you bring with you to the festival. Once you’ve got your fill of yummy food, you can make your way over to the Island Marketplace where there will be a ton of island merchandise, to help you bring home that tropical essence.

5. Pedal Haus

After a day in the sun watching baseball, nothing sounds more refreshing than a cold brew and some scrumptious food that isn’t a ballpark hot dog.

This spring, Pedal Haus is brewing up some of the signature beers to help celebrate the spring and give you some unique beer options during spring training season.

Pedal Haus is featuring a Desert Classic Pale Ale and their award-winning Day Drinker Light Lager to help quench your thirst all through the spring season.

Downtown Tempe’s Pedal Haus Brewery is one of downtown’s great local restaurants for many reasons but one of them is their huge patio that currently sits as one of Arizona’s top 10 patios. Pedal Haus also won the title of the Best Brewery in the United States.

We shouldn’t have to tell you twice to get your butt to that spacious patio and enjoy some local brews before and after an Angels’ game.
