Welcome to ASU: Fall Welcome Week

Tag: BlogSpotlight

Hey, congrats! You’re officially a Sun Devil. Break in the new title by attending the ASU Fall Welcome Week festivities.

What is ASU Welcome Week? A jam-packed week full of fun and exciting events designed to help new Sun Devils meet fellow students, learn about campus resources and acclimate to your new home. A time to soak it all in before classes officially begin.

Here are some key ASU Fall Welcome Week events you should look out for…

Memorial Union/Student Pavilion Takeover  August 13 from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Easily one of the largest events of the year. The Programming & Activities Board transforms all levels of the MU, MU North Stage, and Student Pavilion into interactive activities for students. Different areas of each of these locations will be designated to allow for carnival games, arcade games, art and crafts, and food experiences. This includes a DJ, mechanical bull, mini golf, tote bag painting, fortune telling, skeeball, air hockey, caricature, and bingo

Sun Devil Welcome & Infernofest   August 16, 7:00 p.m.

A predominately first-year student event. Experience Sun Devil spirit, pride, and tradition at its finest during this high-energy event for all Arizona State University first-year students inside Sun Devil Stadium. President Crow, Sparky, ASU athletics, the band, and more will introduce you to what it means to be a Sun Devil during this official welcome for the incoming Class of 2026.

Passport to ASU   August 17, 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.

At Passport you can connect with student organizations and learn ways that you can get involved on campus and in community life while at ASU! Hundreds of organizations will be tabling, offering giveaways and information about how you can join organizations and find your perfect community.

And don't miss Culture Kickoff at Passport: a series of authentic experiences exploring identity, promoting inclusion, and celebrating cultural expression. The Student Pavilion provides a gateway to a wide array of programming, services, and resources that help to facilitate a greater sense of belonging among international and other historically underrepresented students through its culturally-based student coalitions and Multicultural Communities of Excellence space

Echo from the Buttes   August 20, 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Echo from the Buttes is a celebration for all new Sun Devils who are beginning their journey at ASU. Over 4,500 students will hike up 'A' mountain and take part in one of the University's oldest traditions. Once reaching the top, students will receive white paint, where they will use their hands to forever leave their imprint on our iconic 'A', symbolizing a fresh start and a new beginning within the Sun Devil community.
