With the month of love upon us, it got us thinking that there is nothing we love more in Downtown Tempe than our community. We love the people that live here, work here, and visit here—and we take our job to generate events and activations that foster a sense of community with great zeal.
If you’re ready to fall in love with a community of makers, doers, cultivators, and dreamers, we are the place for you! Check out these three great activations, happening this month that focus on bringing the community together:
This inaugural event is designed by and for locals to cultivate their inner creative, lend a hand with community projects, and leave an impact. Create Collective features guided yoga flow (provided by CorePower Yoga), interactive art projects, live music, healthy eats, and a pop-up shop. Attendees are invited and encouraged to mix, mingle, and network throughout this free-flowing event.
A $10 suggested donation at the door benefits the Tempe Mission Campaign with the goal to raise $1,000 throughout the afternoon. Downtown Tempe invites creatives young and wise from across the valley to be a part of something positive, impactful, and fun. Come and get involved with this community-centric event!

6th Street Park

This weekly event is not only the perfect place to enjoy local musicians and artisans, but also the place to meet dynamic individuals in the community. Downtown Tempe is proud to host a platform where the entrepreneurial spirit of creators in the Phoenix metro area can be showcased. So, come take a stroll through 6th Street Park (near Tempe City Hall), and shop from our selection of 30-50 vendors.
Shopping local is a great way to engage and give back to the community. But we know that from time to time it's just nice to browse — we encourage you to bring a friend, grab a coffee at the coffee cart, and stay for a while to listen to some live music. What a fine way to spend your Sunday!
Pro tip: The City Hall Garage is free on Sundays! Park there for easy access to the market (event rates as posted).
#3 Downtown Recess
Relax, play, and connect. In Downtown Tempe, we don’t believe recess ends in Elementary School. For all you downtown employees, step out into the sun and have some fun during your lunch break. On Fridays from 11-2pm, join us at the Centerpoint Plaza for some easy entertainment. Grab your lunch, take a seat, and connect with other DT peeps. You’ve worked hard all week—you’ve earned this!
Also - in case you didn't know, we will host a special Valentine's pop-up market the Friday before Valentine's Day! Be ready to shop till you drop...or until your break is over. Whichever comes first.
